Creamy Homemade Deodorant

The skin is the body’s largest organ. Not only are we nicely wrapped in it like a present but also it does some crucial work to keep us healthy. It protects us from external influences such as dirt, bacteria and viruses and regulates our heat balance. And it has a big influence on detoxification.

That’s why it’s important to me to know what ingredients the products consist that I put on my skin.

For years, I tried to mix my own deodorant, which is not too fluid, not too hard and keeps the same consistence, no matter in which country and at what temperatures I’m hanging around. And for some time now I am most satisfied with this mixture which I would like to share with you.

Ingredients

2 tbsp Coconutoil
1 tbsp Baking Soda
1 tbsp Maizena
2 tbsp Shea Butter
1-2 tablespoons of Almond Oil, depending on the desired consistency
Use essential oil as desired, very sparingly

Mix all ingredients and pour it in a sterile glass container. Depending on the desired consistency, you can add more or less coconut or almond oil.

Officially you can stor a self-made Deo for 4 to 8 weeks. I have mine since 4 month and it’s still perfect.

Coconut oil is rich in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. It has an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect
Baking Soda/Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes odors and has a alkaline effect
Maizena binds the sweat
Shea butter is rich in minerals, moisturizing, healing effect and contains Vitamin E
Almond oil protects and soothes the skin
Essential oils are for fragrance and they have a healing and nourishing effect

I wish you lots of fun trying it out and of course I am looking forward to your feedback!
